Having an Attitude of Gratitude
It occurs to me that my last couple of post have been rather negative so I will start this one with the way that I overcome “high maintenance-ness” and “cheapness”….it’s thankfulness. We have SO MUCH in our lives to be thankful for. The very first breath you drew this morning makes the first item on the list! We live in a free country. We have been given chances and opportunities beyond compare. I am sure that you can list people you love and love you back…some people are not fortunate enough to say that or have ruined their own lives so deeply as to ruin family ties as well.
Be thankful for the little things…the birds chirping this past Monday morning made me thankful that spring is coming right around the corner. I am thankful that the deluge of rain this morning is not snow! I am thankful for my job even when I would rather curl up under the comforter and take a few more Zzzzz’s I could either lament the fact that some of my loved ones have passed away or I can take courage in the fact that I knew them, loved them and had time to spend with them. I can either be upset that the ones I love live so far away or I can be overflowing with the joy of knowing them!
I think it is a choice! Seriously, take some time today to write a list of all the many, many, many blessings that are in your life.
God is more than good. And even when I would have changed the outcome of a situation, I surrender to Him and say “You know better than I do and I trust You”
