Autographs….

Autographs have NEVER been of interest to me. I really don’t understand the concept. People are people…they all have the same human struggles that I do. Kinda strange but I woke up thinking about this today. There is no name scribbled on anything that would have use or endearing value to me. I don’t tend to put any humans on pedestals. I have done that before and been burned.

If I had to get an autograph, I do think that people like Mother Theresa, Harriet Tubman, William Carey, William and Catherine Booth, and lots of others who have laid their lives down for the sake of helping others through out history would top my list. There is something completely awe inducing to me about a person who gives up everything for the gospel of Christ. (Meaning: James 1:27 Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.)

Realizing that our world caters to the best athlete, the most beautiful model, the most successful at this profession, the most recognized actor, the most vocal politician…some heroes today still come about by laying their lives down for others.

Someone has my autograph…it says in Isaiah 49:16 it says: “See, I have written your name on the palms of my hands.” That is how important we are to God.

Then later on this morning my dear husband sent me a link to an essay that totally summed up what I was thinking about today in a very real and unique way, I hope you will take the time to read it:
